[pride tm 2024]
Between July 1 and 6, 2024, we’re presenting a program that explores all dimensions of queer identity, brought to life through events that blend art and culture with a strong focus on community.
At the Pride TM march, we had over 1,500 participants!
[about Audre Lorde]
We read texts and poems by Audre Lorde, an American author and activist who advocated for the rights of people of color and the LGBTQIA+ community, translated into Romanian. Although most of her works are not available in Romanian, they continued to inspire and resonate with current sociopolitical struggles.
We watched “Audre Lorde: The Berlin Years 1984 to 1992.”
[căpcăuni d: Daniel Săvescu]
The performance portrays the ways in which abuse, harassment, and oppression impact the LGBTQIA+ community, focusing on several real events from various countries (France, Romania, Bulgaria, the United States, South Africa, Russia, etc.).
The performance “Căpcăuni” is based on the play of the same name, written by the French author Yann Verburgh and translated by Eugen Jebeleanu.
[sign-making workshop with Really Rux]
We prepared for the Pride TM 2024 march with banners that we made alongside Really Rux.
[rules of survival]
The performance “Rules of Survival” is an autobiographical story about the journey of finding “home.” The character is a non-binary Roma person with feminist values and a femme presentation, exploring various forms of family, from biological to chosen.
[movie screening]
The film is a story of friendship and love between two young people in Sicily in the 1980s. Inspired by a real case of hate crime, the event sparked the LGBTQIA+ activist movement in Italy during the same period. The screening will be followed by a discussion about art and culture as bridges for storytelling, how they can heal a community, and act as tools for social mobilization through education and awareness for other communities or minorities.

[Pride TM 2024 march]
We requested and continue to demand legal recognition of queer families after the third edition of the Timișoara march. We’re ready!
