[Erasmus+ projects]

So far, we have been part of four Erasmus+ projects dedicated to empowering young people through peer education and promoting inclusive communities.

Each project was carried out in collaboration with organizations from six European countries—Slovakia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, and the Czech Republic—with the goal of equipping us with skills to support our communities and drive social change.

From LGBTQI+ advocacy to creating peer-to-peer networks, each project contributes to building stronger and more connected communities.

[genders enders]

Gender Enders was an Erasmus+ training organized by Globers in Coma Ruga, Spain, aimed at combating gender inequality and violence against the LGBTQIA+ community. The project was motivated by the historical and ongoing discrimination and violence faced by women and individuals with diverse gender identities and sexual orientations.

We explored the deconstruction of gender roles as a primary source of inequality, analyzing their impact on self-perception and interpersonal relationships. Gender Enders provided participants with tools to fight this inequality, celebrate diversity, and boost self-esteem.

Through theatrical methodologies and dance activities, we learned to use our bodies and voices to express emotions and facilitate learning in a non-formal setting. The training brought together youth workers and youth leaders engaged in organizations addressing gender issues and discrimination.

At the end of the training, we organized a public demonstration to mark 91 years since women in Spain gained the right to vote in 1931. We created banners, a manifesto, and posters to inform the community about the event and celebrated our diversity to the rhythm of music alongside people of all ages. The feeling we were left with was one of solidarity and queer joy.

[RALYO]

We participated in the Erasmus+ project RALYO – Rainbow Audiovisual Literacy for Youth Organizations, organized by Saplinq, which included three trainings in Slovakia and Scotland. These intensive sessions focused on the methodology of Digital Storytelling, a valuable tool in youth work, especially with vulnerable groups.

We learned to use this method to facilitate inclusion and personal development, and we acquired skills to become facilitators and trainers, enabling us to share these techniques with other young people.

Training 1: Noiembrie 2021 – Slovacia
We participated in 9 intense days of training, learning skills in Digital Storytelling and creating short films to share our experiences and build connections between people and communities.

Training 2: Aprilie 2022 – Scotland
We learned to facilitate workshops on creative writing, photo-video, video editing, and other activities that make up the Digital Storytelling method, helping participants from Scotland and Ireland create their own films.

Training 3: Decembrie 2022
We coordinated a group of 8 participants, guiding them through all the necessary steps to create their films, alongside other facilitators of the method.

[Rainbow Peer Forces]

Rainbow Peer Forces is a youth work project that took place in 6 countries: Slovakia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, and the Czech Republic. Its aim was to introduce the concept and practice of peer education into the youth activities of six partner organizations.

Peer education is defined as an educational approach where people from similar backgrounds share information and provide support to help their peers. This project also aimed to strengthen the skills of peer educators in the partner countries and create a network of educators who can promote LGBTQI+ topics in their communities.

If you want to learn more about the impact and results of our projects, we have prepared some useful resources:

  • Rainbow Peer Forces Research Summary: This is a detailed summary of the research and findings from our project, perfect for those who want to learn more about peer education. You can read more here.

  • Mentoring in Peer Education Guide: This guide explores the importance of mentorship in peer education, a key aspect in the development of educator networks. You can discover it here.

[Resilience in Youth Work]

Resilience in Youth Work was a training course that aimed to integrate methods and activities from the field of resilience building and working with young queer people, to address the challenges they face. The project brought together 16 partner organizations, coordinated by our organization as the lead.

During this course, we focused on the need for youth workers to learn effective, accessible and innovative methodologies, aimed at developing their capacity to cope with adversity and evolve despite difficulties.

The project took place in Predeal and the participants had a safe and open framework for personal and social development. Methods based on mindfulness, compassion and connection with nature are some of the key approaches that the participants explored to bring positive changes in their lives and to create more sustainable paths for the communities they are part of.
